Professional Indemnity Insurance

MK ILA Ltd is not obligated to hold professional indemnity insurance that conforms to the SRA Minimum Terms and Conditions. The SRA mandates that firms under its regulation maintain compulsory minimum insurance levels to safeguard clients should issues arise, with a minimum coverage requirement of £2 million. As MK ILA Ltd operates outside SRA regulation, these requirements do not apply.

Nevertheless, despite not being required by the SRA to carry insurance, your work with MK ILA Ltd is protected by professional indemnity insurance provided through Kingsbridge Contractor Insurance, underwritten by Zurich. SRA Compensation Fund

Since MK ILA Ltd is not under SRA regulation, clients are not eligible to make claims against the SRA Compensation Fund. This fund exists to assist individuals who have experienced financial loss due to services provided by an SRA-regulated person or firm in circumstances involving dishonesty by the adviser, or loss and hardship resulting from the adviser's failure to properly account for funds received, including situations where a regulated party fails to complete work for which payment has been made.

Complaints Procedure

As MK ILA Ltd is not an SRA regulated law firm, you will not have the right to lodge a complaint with the Legal Ombudsman regarding MK ILA Ltd directly. However, if you have concerns about the service provided by the individual solicitor advising you, or matters relating to their professional conduct, you retain the right to raise a complaint with the Legal Ombudsman about that solicitor personally.
